Here are some interview questions we've come up with for the Chief of the Police Department:
1. From your personal experience, did the percentage of any arrests and crimes related to drugs increase over the past few years?
2. As a resident in Malden, do you think drug abuse is a problem? Why and why not?
3. Do you think the state drug law actually went in affects? Does the law actually reduce the rate of drug crimes in Malden or increase it from your working experiences?
4. From a coach’s perspective, how do you feel about athletes doing drugs? Did you know anyone who had drug problems before, and what is something you want to say to them as the Chief of the Police Department?
5. What plans/ procedures did the police department followed to reduce the drug problem in this district? If there is a plan or procedure, do they need to be updated every year or so?
6. As the chief of the police department in Malden, how severe do you think the teen drug abuse is on the scale of one to ten? And why do you think that?
7. What’s the most common drug around our area?
8. Do you think drug abuse is a main and major issue in Malden, and why?
Here is our letter we are going to send to Chief Holland
Dear Chief Holland, We are students from Malden High School and are currently working on a Generation Citizen project about reducing teen drug abuse. Generation Citizen is a project done in many schools to involve students with their community. For this reason it is necessary to accumulate more information about teen drug abuse in Malden, and we would like you to come and speak to our class. Would you please be able to provide us with some statistics about teen drug abuse in Malden? Our class has been working on this project and would like to hear what you have to say about this matter. We understand that you have a busy schedule but it would mean a lot to us if you could share your knowledge to the class about your perspective of teen drug abuse and your experiences with it. In addition, would you mind if we videotape this interview to add to our group page? Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter.
Sincerely, Jesse Yu Kerry Ngan Yating Lu Dante Vo Mikey Pantone
